Overview and Salient features
- Under provision of Indian Partnership Act, 1932 minimum number of partner is 2(two) and maximum numbers of partner is 20 (twenty).
- Under Section 58, of the Indian Partnership Act, 1932 the registration of a firm may be affected at any time by sending by post or delivering to the Registrar of the area in which any place of business of the firm is situated or proposed to be situated, a statement in the prescribed form and accompanied by the prescribed fee etc. as per prescribed formed issued vide Govt. letter FTX.185/2001/63 dtd. 20th Dec. 2001.

Eligibility Criteria:
Minimum two partners and maximum 20 partners who agree to share the profits of a business carried on by all or any of them acting for all is eligible for registration of a firm under Indian Partnership Act, 1932.
Fees including the payment mode
Registration fee of RS.5/- (Rupees five) only is payable for the purpose through online or treasury Challan under Head of Account "1475 Other General Economic Services Fees under Indian Partnership Act, 1932".
Accompanying Documents required
- 1. Filled in Form- I and witnessed by either a Judicial Magistrate or Chartered Accountant.

- 3. Certified copy of Registered Deed of Partnership.
- 4. Office accommodation of the principle place of business - If the Firm claims that its office is situated on a land, owned by it, the Dag Number, Patta Number and Proof of its ownership of the land should be furnished. If the office is situated in a rented building an affidavit from the house owner with proof of his ownership should be furnished.
- 5. Trade Licence obtained from the Municipal Corporation/ Municipal Board/ Town Committee or Gaon Panchayat. In case of IMFL business liquor licence.
- 6. Aadhar card of the partners of the firm.
- 7. Pan card of the partners of the firm.
- 8. Voter Id of the partners of the firm.
